Bariatric and metabolic surgery practice in Tijuana serving a primarily U.S. and Canadian patient population. A joint OCC–UCSD retrospective study of 19,801 procedures (April 2000 – October 2021) reported a 30-day morbidity rate of 1.2% with zero mortalities (ASMBS Annual Meeting 2022).

Instituto Internacional de Medicina Metabólica (IIMM)

Research institute affiliated with OCC and Hospital CYNTAR®. In June 2022, IIMM announced a formal academic partnership with the UCSD Department of Surgery for teaching, research, and surgical education, including plans for a satellite of UCSD's Center for the Future of Surgery — reported by the San Diego Union-Tribune and CBS8 San Diego.
