Trust
Editorial Policy
How content on this site is authored, sourced, reviewed, dated, and corrected. We publish this policy because the trust readers place in clinical writing should be earned, not assumed.
- 01
Authorship
All clinical and educational content is authored or co-authored by Dr. Ariel Ortiz®. Where outside contributors are involved (e.g., the OCC editorial team), they are named explicitly on the relevant page.
- 02
Sourcing
Factual claims about credentials, organizations, accreditations, publications, and clinical outcomes are sourced to peer-reviewed publications, indexed registries (PubMed, PMC), official organizational websites, or named media outlets. Sources are cited inline or in the Sources & References page.
- 03
Medical review
Clinical content is reviewed by Dr. Ortiz and the OCC editorial team prior to publication and on a periodic basis thereafter. See the Medical Review Policy for the review schedule.
- 04
Dating
Every substantive page records a last-updated date in the footer. Major revisions trigger a new date and, where appropriate, a note in the page body.
- 05
Corrections
Errors of fact are corrected promptly. Substantive corrections are noted at the bottom of the page. To report an error, use the professional contact form and select 'Media' or 'Professional Collaboration.'
- 06
Independence
Content is editorially independent of any device manufacturer, pharmaceutical company, or commercial sponsor. Industry relationships relevant to specific content are disclosed on the Disclosures page.
- 07
Scope
This site is the professional and academic headquarters of Dr. Ortiz. It is not a substitute for individualized medical advice. Patient inquiries are routed to ObesityControlCenter.com, where the clinical team can respond.
