Mexican-American bariatric and metabolic surgeon and medical educator (born June 5, 1967, Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico). Founder of the Obesity Control Center®, Hospital CYNTAR®, and the Instituto Internacional de Medicina Metabólica. Professor of Surgery and Clinical Medicine at the Autonomous University of Baja California. Co-founder of the International Bariatric Club; recipient of the 2022 Ciudadano del Año award from Grupo Salinas.
